REVIEW : 71842 Rontu the Master Dragon

Today I will review this ninjago set. I didn't really wanted to get this one and it was on the bottom of my list. But I wanted to get a lego set and I saw a small discount on it so I decided to give it a try. Afterall my Egalt would love to have some company. I hope this will be helpful for anyone who wants to purchase this set for their collection.

Pros :

• Great minifigure selection even thought I would like a different forbidden five member

• It has some nice pieces, like the new pink colour for the wings and the transclucent pink wisp pieces. Also the new head mold and the sword are great ones.

• It's a good enough dragon design for the price and it's pretty posable.

• The price is pretty reasonable for what you get. Considering the prices for the rest of the wave.

• We finaly have Rontu now as a set.

  
  

Cons :

• It doesn't look that finished for me and it kinda looks blocky with so many exposed studs.

• The new head mold is good but we definitely want a lower jaw piece. The jaw design here is kinda lame.

Overall thoughts :

I think this is an average set from the new Ninjago wave. Look I think it's a great toy and a great dragon for what it is, but as a collecton I wanted a more show-accurate version of the character and a more finished model overall. I liked Rontu, I played with her and I love the poses and the character that it has. I think I just wanted a little bit more. Something to line up with Egalt's standarts. The biggest problem here in my opinion is the missing lower jaw for the new head piece.
